My two cents:
Get the black.  The wireless remote will be worth it.  I tested the range of the remote a few days ago.  You can turn on the camera and start recording from at least 40 ft away.  Imagine the possibilities!

Aaron.

Aaron...is the wireless remote waterproof?  :smt003

Sincerely,

Jim

Yes, but not much. Only down to like 10ft.

That's plenty for what I'm thinking...thanks!

The remote uses bluetooth and probably won't transmit a signal under water.

Aaron
Take some, but save some for later.

Very good point. I've tried mine underwater and it did not work.

With the wifi on and connected using the app the battery on both camera and phone die a quick death. I've started using the app to view what I'm gonna film then shut the wifi off. I get way more footage if I just start the camera before I launch. This is on a hero 3 silver

Mike is right. I've learned to only use the wifi when I Absolutely need it!!!

I mount my Gopro on a pole on my crate within arms reach behind me. That way, I can reach the camera from the seated position.
