Another last minute announcement. I am heading south from the bridge over Shag Slough at O dark thirty. I expect to fish somewhere between 1-2 miles downstream. I am planning on hitting the water at 6:00am so I can be in position before the change of the tide. Low tide is about 7:30am. Then I will fish till I catch a sturgeon or till 4:00pm or so. I'll get the incoming and the first half of the outgoing and still make it in before dark. Company welcome. Join me in the dark or stop by later. I'm in a yellow WS Tarpon 120. Last Sturgeon trip of 2013! I also plan to try some striper trolling on the way there and back, maybe some jigging while waiting for my Dino and maybe drop some bait if nothing else works.  :smt044

I am done sturgeon fishing until we get some rain or reports of a red hot bite. Looked like lots of fish on my FF but nothing biting. At high tide I needed a break to get my blood flowing so I paddled towards shore to try jigging for bass. This is a new technique for me so I was happy to hook up with something. It was peeling line off my real at a pretty good clip, and then it was gone. I couldn't get it to bite again so that was it for the day. I think now I will look forward to Crabfest.

Good job, the truth about sturgeon is it takes many many trips with no fish to get the first one
