Fished Davenport with my brother and a friend, 7 am launch, out of the water just before noon. No wind on the water until 10:30 or so; made for a great morning. No hali's. As usual.
However, a great day it was for rockfish. I caught 4 nice blues, 1 underling, a bunch of gophers, a canary, the largest Greenling I've caught, and two fat Reds. Can't say the same for my comrades.
Kept those last two and had lunch and dinner with tons leftover. I love fishing and catching and keeping and releasing and eating fish. Another wonderful day on the water....

Being an honorable sportsman is way more important than what you catch.

WTG!!  Nice reds.

I saw a lotta boats out there on my drive home Sunday.  Was anyone catching flatties?

Also, I heard rumors of WSB off Davenport this weekend.

maybe I can sneak out tomorrow morning super early....just be a bit late for work.....no one would notice.......

Allen,
I met a guy on a blue yak named Mark who said he had caught nice Hali of around 20 lbs. My friend james caught a #22 out there LAST sunday..As one might imagine, it was PISSED. None for us this time though, and, thus far, none for me any time.  But they are out there; Tood from Bayside pulled three in last week. I'll have my day.

Maybe all the guys in boats were after the WSB. I saw none pulled out, but early in the day my line was VERY violently snapped by something massive on the bottom. Until that WSB report I figured that was my chance at the big flatfish but.....well, I'll never know.
