Did a solo trip on monday. Got out early wanted to wait for some light before I hit the open water. Made a bait stop on the way out and got a good size kingfish to bait my stinger rig. Found a nice spot on the FF at 60' and tried my live bait. No takers. Decided to drop a swimbait and slam got a ling! Got out the gaff, pulled em on board and gave em the club. Switched back to the live bait and hooked the other one. It was a good day. Tried for some rockys but they were stubborn.

Well done sir.  Kudos on the productive solo mission.  Water therapy feeds the soul.

I catch a lot of those kingfish in santa cruz, tried them for bait a few times, never catch anything with them.  Best thing to use them for is chum, or crab bait
Cant answer the phone right now, I'm fishing

The lings out in Capitola seem to like kingfish.  But that was when we couldn't find anchovies/smelt, so maybe they were keying in on them?

Nice catches btw!
