Finally got to see our local bobcat stroll through my yard with my eyes today at 13:30hr's!  Beautiful grey striped coat, puffy, cottontail stubby tail, confident, slow gait, looked like it didn't have a worry  on it's mind.  Checked my trail cam for possible video capture, but only had a blurry "stride" shot.
I felt privileged to have watched it cross my yard.

P.S.  Wife wants to look up "Bobcat medicine" but hasn't yet.

I've seen a few running ones and had to put one down that was near-dead and hurtin bad, pretty sure the poor thing was rabid.
Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not "Mr. Lebowski". You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.

That is very cool! I've had two or three encounters with them. Once well fishing for trout just south of big sir. Their were two in a tree just above my Brother as he fished. When I told him to look up slowly he almost panicked. He was pretty young maybe about 15 yrs but the look on his face was priceless.
The other time was checking out the camp ground for the Storm Trooper event. My wife and I  with our dog Bella spotted one in the large Oak tree along the trail to the camp ground. We watched it until it jumped down and ran back into the hills.
I too felt very privileged to of had these encounters. But never in my front yard :smt002

When I lived down south, I used to play golf at a course in the San Fernando Valley and they would walk across the fairways.  They were so used to humans, that they just casually walked around the course.  Beautiful animals!

I saw one once in Folsom while eating at Mel's. The place backs up to the Willow creek basin and I was sitting facing the windows.  The tough guy was just strolling through.

Very cool!  I saw one for the first time a month ago and it was playing in a field or trying to catch a small critter. I felt privileged to have seen such a beautiful animal.  I hear they make good pets and act more like a canine.

They are a very cool animal to see in the wild.  I almost stepped on one that was bedded down in the early morning hours while bowhunting just north of Berryessa.  I was shocked because I didn't think we had Bobcat in these parts.

GF and I have seen 2 this year,  One hiking above San Jose, and the other out Marin in the GGNP.  THat brings my lifetime total to 3. The first being one in Oklahoma while on a Deer Hunt at Fort Sill.
