Ocean Cove Nov. 30 2013

I got to Ocean Cove about 2 pm.  There was moderate fog with visibility about 1/4 mile.  Some fishermen in boats with motors had already come in with good hauls of rock fish and some good sized lings that they were cleaning at the cleaning station.  The wind was light but there was an ocean swell of 2-3 ft.  Because I don't yet have a compass I didn't go out very far; just to the outer edge of the kelp.  The tide was out so I didn't expect much and I didn't even get a bite.  About every 15 minutes a set of 4-5 ft. swells would come through.  After about 2 hours otw as I was paddling back the fog lifted for a beautiful view of the cove.  When I drove through Jenner the fog was still fairly thick there.

It sounds like you had a good day of paddling.

Those fog vistas of the ocean on HWY 1 were spectacular!

Way to get on it and to be safe, YaknFish.  Get that compass and you'll better equip yourself to get some fish too!   

Good job playing it safe yaknfish, If you have a smart phone you can DL a compass app and double zip lock it to keep it dry otw. Or invest in a compass, and a radio too.
