Greetings all!

We moved up to Salt Point from SF recently. Started seeing kayak fishing for the first time. Seemed that those fishing were somewhat of a different breed than the boys on SF Bay. For starters, they all had lots o fish and big smiles. I wanted in but didn't want to have a long learning curve.

Decided to hire Spike for the day. Best bang for the buck IMO. Not only did I have a great time, but came home with a cooler full of goodness. Spike probably saved me at least a year of trial and error. Plus my sides were sore from all the laughing.

Now that the hook is set, I'll be boat shopping and will see you folks out off Sonoma coast very soon!

Stephen

Congrats on moving to one of the most beautiful parts of the California coast you must be in/on the water to fully enjoy it IMO. We'll be seeing you around I hope.- Amos

A wise decision on the Old Spikey....  his article long ago in WON is what got me hooked,

but I did the long and dangerous learning curve....  :smt012

on searching for your yak... Try before you buy...  you sound like someone who is going to take to this and be a fast study, probably be out on the water a lot too with your lo-cal...  seasons about to end so you have plenty of time to pick out that great yak that will become a part of your body...

probably will wind up with more than one...  take your time and see ya on the water....  :smt004

Thank all of you for the kind welcome. Got to Sausalito 8 years ago and got into sailing. Loved it, still do, but try meeting friends.........It's all about staying within your 'class' if you know what I mean.

The Kayak fishermen I've met, especially the members of this board are much different. I think if I was paddling a log and fishing I'd still meet new friends and be invited over for a beer.

Love it! :smt006
