WTB carbon Hobie paddle, or help repair?

Borrowed the inlaws Hobie and somehow the paddle broke right at the blade. (blade insert broke off in rod)
Ill upload pics when I get home

Anyone have any tips, or one they'd like to sell?

Do you need the Hobie paddle? I have an AT paddle or 10. Some carbon. I will hook you up with a good deal if that will work. 

how old is it they may warranty it, mine was a year old and they did

Not sure the age, it is a demo kayak from SNAC so im sure its a few years old

Wow, didn't know they broke that easily.  At least yours broke, my disappeared into the delta...haha. 

Good luck on finding a replacement bro.  Let me know if you find a place that sells just the single paddle (lost just the right paddle).   

So Jeffrm20 only has the right half of the paddle, and SmokeOnTheWater only has the left half. Maybe you two can work out a deal.

I repaired a carbon Hobie Cat "Hot stick" that's pretty similar. The Hot stick is a tiller extension for steering. Might not take quite as much tension as a paddle, but....

Repair was to clean up the ends, coat with 2 part marine epoxy, 2" fiberglass tape (could have used carbon, I guess) and then saturate with epoxy.  Strong, strong strong!.

From your pics the plastic of the paddle looks like it might interfere a bit, but epoxy and fiberglass are pretty bulletproof!

Jeff, is there a place close to you that rents/sells Hobies?  You may check with them and see if they will warranty it..........

looks like it can be cut off n reglued to save it. I wouldnt throw it away for sure, some one will fix that.

Can't reuse the blade since the part that slides up the shaft is broken off. I wonder if I can find a replaced blade and lose 3" or so off the paddle length
