Just got back from two days pulling spinners for kings. You can only keep jacks and I heard the jacks werer thick.
First morning got a late start, should have gotten there early cuz right away I hook up, didn't stick. Another hit that didn't stick and it was over, the tide went slack. I saw many fish on ff, on surface, and being caught.
Today, on the water early, not as many fish showing. Still, I hooked three and released a twenty and a twelve pounder.
Great fun, put on a show for the powerboaters. Seemed to get more respect after having landed a fish.
It can be done.

Right on!  Any seal or shark activity while you were there?  Does the lower river open up to adult take at all again this year?

I don't think there will be an adult "take." I think it was a small quota that has been met.
As for seals, yeah, they were around though not a problem for fishermen. I saw seals getting their own. I saw underwater bombs thrown at them by the natives. I saw nets taken away for various infractions.
Not as many nets this year.
