So all my fishing rods are in a pile in the corner of my garage, along with my paddles and nets, and has been that way for far too long. How do you guys store your fishing rods? The kayaks on hangers take up most of the room on the walls, and the ceiling is too high to reach, so I am looking for a free standing solution with a relative small footprint.

Buy some 2 - 2.5" PVC pipe and cut them up about 1.5ft fill them and put the inside the milk crate (standing up).  You can store lots of rods this way.

this is a really old pic.
B I found some commercial made up-right racks that are set up the same way as this one I made a number of years back.
I have two full cabinet sides and one door with my setups lined up like this.

mine are just stuffed behind the door of my shed (the only place where the ceiling is high enough to fit the 1pc rods).
I keep thinking I should do up some PVC tubes, but then I just keep not doing anything about it. I should fire the facilities maintenance guy that maintains the place :smt003

I am surprised you have not carved and painted some fancy rod rack. :smt003

I can't use wall mount racks, so I built this...

That's the same thing I built, lucky13. Got the idea from tackle shops and bought the cheapest wood I could get.

Yup. It's a knockoff from a commercial design.
