I would like to see these sentences handed down to the ab poachers might help a bit.

Glad his operation is shut down. Skunkasaurus that link was fantastic, I'm not surprised that aquarium enthusiasts care deeply about marine resources like we do. They were on that guy like stink on sh!t in 2009. Sounds to me like a lot of poaching went on, enough to buy the scumbag a nice truck and a house to rent out.  He should be ashamed not to mention severely punished.   

While the maximum sentence could have been decades in prison,

And it should have been.
House arrest?? Put him in real prison.
Lost his truck and boat? Hell, he's scammed people out of more than that cost him.
I say start handing out long sentences and hard time.
I'm willing to bet he is still operating on some level from home; just toned down a little.
It's a lot harder to do it from prison.
