I am coming up from San Luis Obispo this friday with the wife and kids for a UC Davis Reunion but have cashed in a stock pile of brownie points to get Sat morning to fish.  Was wanting to hit the American for some Salmon.  I have not been active on NCKA for a while, but thought i would ask about the current salmon run.  Are they there yet?  Two years ago, before i moved, They were back and in good numbers, and i hear good things about this year.    Was thinking of hitting Howe Ave to see if any of the old holes are still producing.  Company and advice are much welcomed.

RIP Mooch, I was definitely welcomed into this madness.

The salmon are definitley there but it is hard to get a bite. The water is a little warm so they arent biting but if you are that lucky person you will get hit :)

I was there about 10 days ago. Fish are definitely there, breaking the surface right in front of you, but they were not hitting.  About 8-10 kayaks, several boats and shore anglers only heard of 2 caught.  good luck

I haven't seen any salmon in the port yet either, going to try and hit it later this week after work if the wife agrees.

I was in on the AR Fish n Chill on sunday, my first drift down the lower AR, very few fish being caught except 1-2 jigging at the pump house? Saw them rolling all over, but only got one bump for about a thousand casts.

The only place I am hearing salmon being caught is on the Sacramento River, trolling and/or banking, but banking is fist-fight fishing in some places and has always turned me off, and I have never trolled the river so I haven't paid a lot of attention.

Looking at my photos from last year, I caught most my fish in early November, so that is what I am waiting for to hit it hard. Good luck on your trip, let us know how you did!!
Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not "Mr. Lebowski". You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.
