Finally was able to fish bueys here in hmb and was out for about 4hrs. Caught two big blacks and loved every minute of it.sucks not being able to see structure though(fishing blind).however seat was very uncomfortable after a while.:smt013. Been looking at the gts elite. back support on seat wasnt bad bad but ass was killing me. Anyone use gel bottom or insert that works good without sitting to high? Or worth just getting elite?

Anyone try these or similar?

like riding a bike, ya just gotta break your ass in...  need callouses.    :smt044

I use the Elite, very comfortable,  but sitting on anything for 8 hours , it gets to be a pain

My new a tarpon is not as comfy as my older Tarpon with the PA seat. Callouses help too!

If the pain is from your buttocks then any foam cushion placed under your seat will help. I used to use a foam kneeling pad from Home Depot. Then later on I sprung for one of the aftermarket shaped foam pads sold for kayaks. I think it was $30 or so.

This product changed my kayak fishing life.  And much cheaper than the Hobie I comfort seat.

I don't say these things lightly.  After purchasing these pads,my fishing days on the kayak have improved significantly in comfort.  You'll never see me forget it at home.  Ask yakhopper what he thought of it sitting on it at the Albion potluck. And for $20 its a really good deal.

I've using this for about 4 yrs now and move it easily between my 2 yaks: http://www.yakpads.com/20-paddle-saddle-with-high-backrest.html

It comes with a cord that attaches around the seat and so it doesn't move around.  Yet easy to un snap.
Its puncture proof from hooks and spines and stays with your seat even if you have a yard sale.

if you are out for long periods,,,get both the highback seat & a cushion......that REI one is a good one,,,,,any air filled cushion will work. Some longer than others.......so dont pay too much,,,they all end up failing at one point.

and WTTMadness!  :smt002

Good find, plus it is light enough for my backpacking trips, I'm really into super light backpacking.  I'm going to REI tomorrow!!
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!
