While playing around at the estuary today I popped a Trophy Trough in the water and was very pleased with how it performed.  Now I just need to find a big fish to put on it.   :smt001

Crap Eric, do you ever sleep?

I've thought about an in the water measuring device big enough for a sturgeon 40-60 inches, something like a canvas sling (think something that looks like a stretcher)with one side attached to the yak and the other side maybe a piece of pvc.  It could stay rolled up and secured til needed.  Of course single handed with a big fish= I'm still just thinking about it.  No snares allowed for sturgies anymore.

Can't wait to see you use yours.

If that cutoff low happens around the second week in October you can join me on a halibut run and see if we can both put some big fish on the trophy trough.

For those of us with a bending branch paddle with the measure alreadyinto it, why not a an attachable clip placed at the Zero length that could be placed on it and removed for paddling?  Or is that to difficult a device to use for CPR?

I would worry about damaging my paddle on a really big fish, Kevin, and the visibility of the paddle and its markings on video or in stills may leave much to be desired.

I'll make one for anyone who wants one, but the pricetag is $200 - they take a long time to make, and the redwood costs about $40.

Looks good Eric. I can see the labor involved for sure.

How much for a Redwood Lace Burl Trophy Trough? :smt001

You provide the wood...   :smt001  Same price since I'd have to meet you twice and drink expensive beer at the same time.   :smt003

A piece of reclaimed oldgrowth is nice to use.  Full 2" by around 9" by 60".
