Saturday October 5th at Brandy Creek beach on Whiskeytown lake Join Headwaters Adventure Company, Jackson Kayaks, Kokatat and Sean Morley for a kayak and dry suit demo and skills building classes.

Learn these skills and much more during a Fishing Kayak Self Rescue Class presented by Sean Morley from Jackson Kayak. And at the same time demo a fabulous Kokatat Dry Suit and discover how you can paddle all year round in safety.
 
Forward Stroke Clinic
Learn how to paddle efficiently; go further and faster and use less energy in this on-land and on-water clinic. Whether you paddle a sea kayak, a fishing kayak or a recreational kayak, paddling efficiently makes your experience much more enjoyable. Find out how to utilize all the muscles in the body to propel your craft and learn some drills to help you practice every time you get on the water.
 
Blending Strokes Clinic
We use a combination of strokes to control our kayaks. Learn some fun drills to help you control your kayak more efficiently and become a better paddler.

If your not interested in a demo this is an awesome opportunity to come out and learn from an extremely experienced paddler. Self rescue is huge, as well as proper paddling strokes, I think everyone can learn something valuable from Sean, I know I can. Here' a little Bio on him.

Originating from the UK and now a resident of Marin Co. CA, Sean began kayaking at the age of ten with the Boy Scouts took part in his first kayak race in 1978 and has competed in many disciplines of paddle sport since then including white water slalom and downriver racing, marathon, sprint, wave ski, surf life saving and surf kayaking with success at national and international level. He began expedition sea kayaking in 1996 and set a record for the fastest crossing of the Irish Sea in 1998. In 2004 he achieved his childhood dream by completing the first solo circumnavigation of the UK and Ireland by sea kayak; the first ever to include all of the inhabited islands. The 4500 mile expedition took 183 days and is the longest kayak journey ever undertaken in British waters. He began participating in kayak surfing competitions in 2006 and in 2007 Sean took the Masters Open title at the World Surf Kayak Championships in Spain. In 2008 Sean attempted to break the record for the fastest circumnavigation of Vancouver Island. He completed the 700mile circumnavigation in 17 days taking over 6 days off the previous record. In 2013 Sean won the Men’s High Performance Kayak division at the prestigious Santa Cruz Paddle Surf Festival.
Sean has worked in the paddle sports industry continually since moving to California in 2006. He is an ACA Level 5 Advanced Open Water Kayak Instructor and Level 3 Surf Kayak Instructor. He has 7 years of experience of retail and field sales and has actively participated in the design of several new kayaks.

Sean is a legend of the sport. He was one of my mentors when I started paddling rough water in the ocean. Probably the most all around talented boater alive. If your in The north State you would e silly to miss this.
