Nice. Maybe I can attach a handle that would allow me to reach it in the back. I'll have to think about it.

That could be. I suppose I could switch to a regular size milk crate. Limit myself to one pole and a net. I am glad I asked the question though. It seems that the bait tube idea fizzled. I wonder if they don't keep bait very well or don't keep salt water bait very well. There must be a reason to dedicate that much room and weight to a live bait tank.

my live bait well is the same size as a crate.  It has a rod holder on the back so between that and my flush mounts I carry 4 rods and a net.  Spare tackle in two trays in a dry bag that I toss behind the seat, between my live well and seat.  Leashed of course.

to access the tank I can just twist around or sit side saddle.

as to the fizzle, a dedicated live well just works better than a tube.  The bait stays livelier, longer. The drawback is space and cost.  I dont really fish freshwater so have no idea how those baits behave.

I could see that a bait well with integrated rod holders would help. I keep my anchor between my crate and seat. Maybe if I cut down on the selection of tackle I could fit a bait bucket in the milk crate. Or put the extra tackle in a dry bag that could be tossed into the well behind my crate. If I needed to get to it I could put ashore and get out to reach it at the worst. Thanks

Great thanks. Maybe I can check it out at Yakhoppers's Delta Kayak Maddness event.
