Hey everyone,

Going to head out to the AR first thing Sunday morning at Howe Ave. I have only fished there once for the big skunk and I have yet to catch a salmon from the kayak. Company is more than welcome (hopefully with some tips). I will probably just be towing around some quickfish with sardine on unless someone knows something better that i dont. See you out there!

ok, i will try the kwikfish and flying C's.. maybe i will pick up some of those maglips as well. Where do you normally catch the fish at? Below the walking bridge or up by the concrete pumps?

Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not "Mr. Lebowski". You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.

There are fish everywhere from the water pump to the J street bridge, but they aint biting. 4 of the seasoned locals I talked to today drew blanks.  I tried trolling maglips, casting flying C's, jigging gibbs and slow rolling glow tubes with 0 hits while dozens of salmon rolled around me.  Surface temp was 69f, which is very warm for Chinook, and I think the dissolved oxygen is lower than usual because of the temp, turbidity from the USGS project upstream. <- This is how I rationalize not catching any fish  :smt044  The good news is... The temp is going to drop next on friday and we may even get some rain on Saturday, which should improve the bight for Sunday.

If you launch at Howe you can drift a whole mile maybe. Then turn around and paddle back up a half mile, turn around, repeat till fish on board, or you are bored.
