I am pretty new to the sport and in fact have never been on the American River.  I was wondering if there were any decent areas to jig for salmon on the American?  I am thinking about heading out Tuesday after work (around 4, company would be great but I don't know where I will be launching from yet) and won't have any time to go out and buy more gear/learn a new technique before then.  Mainly I just want to get out and learn the river and maybe catch something if I get lucky.  Any info would be great.  Thanks

Casey
