Wow that's really unfortunate........prayers go out to them and their families. Wondering why both of them were in trouble? Maybe one trying to help the other? They must have been on a boat or yak to get to 70 ft. That's a very long surface swim through kelp if not.

  70' isn't too hard to reach .  They would have had to stay that deep a long time to have to decompress.  Unless using double tanks...   
     The left side is the boating entrance to the anchorage.   Because it's mostly a sandy bottom there's a kelp free channel, that goes deep fairly quick.     
    I've dove 95'  in that area out at the wash rock ( way out on the right side).   It's actually a pinacle,  and yeah you would have a long  swim to get there.

   Very sad news indeed.

  News last night said they were from one of those dive boats.  Was the Captain that called it in.   Sounded like a couple.  The guy died.
