now I know why you and Nathan get along.  We were evacuated from Pajaro flood in 95 when he was born.  Middle name is Noah  :smt002

not a downer at all Jim, it helps remind us how life can turn on a dime, and how we can handle more than we believe.  Unless you're a Raiders fan.  Then life is perpetual purgatory with no sign of better times  :smt004

Squidder K, I will not even try to empathize with you guys, nothing in my history compares.  I'll just say thanks.

I remember the pajaro flood all too well.  They still find blue barrels at the bottom of the Monterey canyon that washed out from Smuckers.

Jimbo, appreciate your sharing a tale of family disaster and of coming together to overcome calamity. The day did not pass unnoticed by me. At the time, I was attached to a federal tactical unit that was sent to Katrina. Nothing prepared my team for what we encountered as we arrived at day five. The scale of catastrophe was ungodly to wrap ones head around. Death and despair were everywhere. Yet, we put or heads down and did some meaningful work to help the citizens of New Orleans and to establish some law and order amidst chaos. I shall never forget...SRJ

Thanks for taking the time to share that Jim!  A great note to finish the week on.
