Ah, I thought it looked like a rock fish but then again it kinda looked like a bass to me.  Guess I have to start catching bigger ones lol this little guy is a cute one though.

I kid you not, I was striper fishing from Pt. Orient before I had my kayak and i saw my tip keep twitching.  I thought a crab was messing with the bait so I yanked then I decided to check the bait so I pulled my line in and saw he was hooked by the lip.  I thought about baiting him up but the little guy tugged at my heart strings and I threw him back. :smt010

Finally caught a ling on live bait last week. I caught a small black, put on a mooching rig with the top hook through the nose and the back hook dangling. I felt it the hit and brought it up nice and slow and netted a decent lingcod without it ever taking the hook. It just kept the death grip on the black's head for the whole ride up  :smt004
