Been out of town for a couple weeks and with two days home I made it a point to get a few hours of fishing in this morning. Seems like I had caught one or two of everything but release them all. I caught this bad boy drifting a jig between kelp beds. Good fight. My switch to heavier line and leader is paying off. About 20 minutes later I had hooked a tiny rockfish and a ling (looked about the same size) hit him on the way up. I got the ling all the way up to the surface but I think he decided that it would be better to let me have the tiny fish. Sucker let go before I could nab him.

Nice fish.  Where did you get him?

Nope. Working on a non-optional project in Colorado till Sept. 1, then I have a mountain bike trip from Durango, CO to Moab, UT. till the 10th.

I've contacted everyone, emailed and hardcopies to the Govenor, F&G Commission, etc. I've tried to get all of the outraged  paddlefishers that I know to write but they just don't do it. They just don't believe that it will really happen.

Give them the link to the live telecast of the meeting.  They will be shocked.

Video coverage of Commission meetings can be viewed on www.cal-span.org.

Do you know Eric Endersby?  He will be presenting the coalition's critique of the plans at the meeting.
