Can you ask them to hold the position for a year?? J/K Big Jim sent me a text about this.
Starting medic school this Saturday and will finish in 11 months. It was nice meeting you up at Shelter Cove this year. Getting frustrated out here in Arizona since none of my certs really transfer. I stopped watching the news because they keep showing the wildfires, it's a bummer not having the opportunity to go on them anymore. Thanks for posting this up and stay safe.

another tip about medic school....  get ahead of the game...  your going to be loaded with a ton of information and be responsible for it. start learning your ACLS drugs now, indications, doses, side effects,

NOW!    so its just review when their teaching it,  flash cards are great,

and during your internship...

keeping it simple is paramount ...  so much your responsible for, everything you learned in didactic, new county protocols ( they reinvented the wheel in each county and state oh BTW...  :smt012)  and you need to take control of the scene with all kinds of professionals surrounding and judging you... and do it with respect to those professionals...  pretty dynamic situation...

Play the part, know your stuff,

pulses and breathing are basically fast, slow or none...

and remember, when assessing a pt. ...

" If it sounds like horse huffs, it's probably horses...."   :smt002

Good Luck and PM me if ya have questions....

Thanks guys for the tips and motivation! Really wanted to make it to Albion to meet up with everyone just couldn't swing it this year.
Just the other day I checked out the drug profiles on the state site, gonna have my work cut out for me, I think there were 118 pages of drugs. Getting ahead of the game is a common theme with the folks I have talked to so far. Thanks again for the tips.

Chris, We have been hiring 1-3 FF/Medics a year for the last few years so do not despair, keep focused on Paramedic School, it may seem like school is taking forever but keep your eye on the prize.  Some great advice from Jim and Danglin.  As another Brother FF said

Good Luck in Medic School. If I can get through it you will be fine.

Internship think the biggest thing IMO is confidence, because you will get this from your preceptor, "ARE YOU SURE" just say yes...

App done now off to the DMV for that print out.

Sound good Russ, Medic school is my top priority. I'll get out of it what I put into it so I will give it everything. Heck my wife is even preparing for it... I have been doing all kinds of projects around the house that we have been wanting to do. The past couple of days she has come home from work with all the supplies needed from Home Depot that she picked up on her lunch.

I always love the open ended questions of "are you sure", "are you sure" like you are doing something wrong. You rack your brain thinking you are missing something, tell them yes I'm sure, then you get the quick "ok, just checking" from the preceptor.

Thanks again guys, and hopefully I'll be able to see everyone soon.
