Hi All! Just got back from Lake Almanor I had two weeks of fishing. the lake has more water than I've ever seen this time of year which gives the fish more cold water so they were hard to find. So It started out slow with the Trout being hard to find and the first ones I got were 12"  Then I found the spot or I should say area. 2 to 4 pounders great fun, the boards in the pic's the fish are on are 12" wide. I also went out on A PB that's how I found the best areas to fish.

Did you catch these trolling or on a gitzit/jig?

Nice job Mike Lake Almanor is one of my favorite large lakes. What area were you fishing, we always found summer trout at Shrimp Island or Eagles Nest Awesome smallie fishing see any? Had some great smallie trips from the Fox Farm to Eastside PG&E. Any Salmon action?
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

I was trolling with 12lb lead core 30 ft of 6lb mono and 6 ft of 4lb mono.  The big ones came from the tower to the Forest service ramp by plumas pines in 50 ft of water with 5 to 5 1/2 colors out.  the small ones came from the east shore just past the last houses towards the dam. Using worms it makes for a slow troll. Baily creek spring and the red bank gave up a few nice ones. and if you want small mouth bass they are all over.  No salmon this time for me. I heard they were at the dam but I didn't get any.
