Paddled around and enjoyed the flat calm waters around 930 am with my wife. We paddled out and north, watched people fishing the tubes and kept going out and out.... lots of birds diving and lots of baitfish flopping around on the surface. I dont know what they were but they were rolling around on the surface pretty much everywhere we paddled. We made it about 3/4 to the shipping ports and turned back to paddle south.

I practiced casting with a spoon but didnt bring more gear. For some odd reason I just left it all behind.

Anyone know how deep that water is? I should have brought the FF at least. Then I would have wanted the rest of my fishing gear and some bait, I am greedy that way. I think its grassy bottom as I hooked a lot of grass.

I did not catch anything. But the paddling was nice, wind didnt start til 130 but hey, it was lunch time anyways. That place is nice, its quiet and we watched the guys in bass boats putting around for halibut real close to the shore. Nobody stayed put very long.

thanks mooch, that place is cool, even just for a day of paddling. for the first time i paddled in shorts and t shirt. what a free feeling that is. any hotter and i would have been pretty nasty. thank god it wasnt the latter!

on the way to the freeway aftewards i saw lots of folks fishing the lagoon. it was friggin hot as hell.

i even brought snacks and candy and ate while paddling aorund. enjoyedt he view of the highway from a different perspective.

i wanted to paddle to pier 39 and have some chowder and see the folks who paint themselves silver and move like robots for spare change but i think that was a lot farther than it seems although i was able to see the tops of the buildings in the city from there.

it was hot as HELL  :smt077 :smt077 :smt077 :smt096 :smt096 :smt096
