Hmm ok good to know, i might be getting a larger rechargeable pack sometime down the road when i wana dish out the cash for one.  In the meantime i will just use what i have i guess.

With the marine goop, does it keep the transponder in place pretty well?  (ie getting accidentally knocked around a little bit)

I think typically, FF will operate from 9vdc up to 13vdc so you battery may have been ok.  The AA packs won't last long though, so bring spares.  If any air gets between the transducer and the hull, you'll have problems with the FF.  Ultrasonic pulses do not travel through air (Bubbles)  What can happen, is, the ultrasonic pulses can heat the silicon and "Boil" bubbles into it.  You mentioned wanting to try the duct seal?  it's by far the easiest install method.  Just install the transducer right behind your seat, won't kick it then.  Be sure to add water each time you launch though!
The way you rigged your worm. through the front and out the middle, is depending on how you have the weight set up, sliding down to the worm is Texas rigged, or worm on a short leader weight sliding weight at the top is Carolina rigged.

My transducer is not gooped in, just the noodle. Then water in the noodle. Mine does not get knocked around in my hull.

Cut hole in noodle to fit ducer. Glue down the noodle with Goop. Put ducer inside noodle, fill with water.

You replied at the same time as fishingforacure messaged me the same thing haha, i have seen similar setups like this before but this by FAR seems to be the easiest and most effective.

I will hopefully make time today or tomorow to give this a shot!

If you were close to your buddy and he was using a ff as well they will interfere with each other.

Well got a late start at the lake (launched around 11:30 am or so) and stayed around till about 8:30 haha.

wasnt untill about 6 or so that i started getting some nibbles and actually caught me a little large mouth bass!  First fish on my new rod and first fish in the kayak!  So i was somewhat happy haha, wasnt too big of a bass or else i would have taken a picture hahaa, but it was a fish none-the-less.  My friend didnt seem to have any luck :(

Where i went to get bait didnt seem to have the worms i needed so i ended up going with blue-ish clear robo worms, and greenish white robo worms both salted.  I gave the wacky rig a shot for most of the day, then switched to a weighted weedless hook and put it through the front and hook out the middle (duno the name of that kinda setup).  But as soon as i switched i started getting bites.

The lake was pretty crowded unfortunately and the boat traffic was somewhat annoying, that probably led to our missfortune, but it was still fun, it really is a beautifull lake.  I will definately be planning a camping trip out there SOON!

I also had my FF start acting up for some reason, it was reading the depth (although i was getting upwards of 90ft in some areas, im not too sure if that was correct).  It was reading alot of noise and 99% of the time it was as if though i had it on while still on shore but it was still reading the depth somewhat accurately...Im thinking i have to redo my transponder install.  Any thoughts on what could have caused those issues?  I will be contacting the lowrance guy here sometime this week but i want to try and resolve this issue first incase its a defective unit.

Cast the shoreline with wacky riged Senkos. Try to cast right on to the shoreline and let it drop and reel it in fast.  The banks are so steep that most the fish will be hanging out right at the shoreline.  Work the shaded side of the lake in the evening, paying special attention to rock outcroppings and points.

About the last ~1/4th of the lake before it started getting to the real crowded camping areas is where i had the best action of the day on the shady side (around 6-7 pm or so IIRC.  I didnt pay attention to what you said, definately helped :) thanks!

Congratulations on the fish.  That lake was in my backyard for the better part of 20 years, and I fished it frequently.
