I went up to Timber Cove to check out the area for the first time. I didn't bring my kayak as I wasn't sure what to expect. I saw people camping at the bottom along the beach but it looked like a very steep drive down, I was in my Civic and I didn't want to take the chance of getting stuck down there. Also, I tried to knock on the door of the people who run it but I got no answer, I am wondering for those that have been there if  I could take a car down there, and if not I have a 2 wheel drive Toyota Tundra. I'm thinking of camping out there this month and taking the dogs with me, would be fun to go out for some rockfish, not sure if the salmon are out there. Looked really nice. Would like to post a hook up when I head out there.

Take the Tundra Steph.  Why even think about the Civic?!?!  :smt044  But actually, the Civic would drive down just fine, just dont drive down on the sand, or too far to the left where it's sandy.  And watch out for huge potholes  :smt002

Yea the Tundra I feel would def get down and up much easier, i put new tires on the civic so i thought it would grab better trying out the hill, i heard it was steep but seeing it from above, that was steeeep!  :smt044. I haven't seen any recent reports on TC wondering if anyone has been out there lately.

That pretty much sums it up. I haven't been there this season but there should be envelopes at the front door to leave launching payment.

I take my minivan in there all the time. It's no issue as long as you pay attention.

I have a trailer up on the bluff and am at TC most weekends. As others have stated, lots of different vehicles make it up and down the hill. Just need to stay on the solid pavement and avoid sandy spots.

A couple of the locals caught 3 salmon this Saturday in a power boat just outside of the cove, with one weighing in at 30 lbs.

If you come out to camp on the beach, be sure to stop by and say hello. We're in site 18 with the Airstream trailer. Cold beer will be available!

Cheers, Lloyd (Kahuna)

Bones and I were there on July 6 and caught a bunch of blues and blacks with a couple other guys. Another NCKA member had a nice ling that day as well. We just paid with the envelope and went on our merry way...very easy. Road is steep but doable for most cars as the others have stated. Scallen from NCKA/Santa Cruz Kayaks says the Salmon are there but we didn't try it out on this day. See Bones post or mine from earlier for some pics of our day and catch.

I went there with my Toyota corolla and it was fine. I did get stuck when I was going up due to the uneven pavement. But just reverse a little and turn the wheels. You should be fine, good luck.

Was there on Sat, 7/13. My 2wd ranger makes it up and down just fine. Fishing was sloooooow.
