What's up NCKA?

It's looking like the weather is going to be nice out in Bodega all week. If conditions hold 'til Saturday, I plan to head back to Bodega to resume the pink chase.

This would be a Doran launch around 5:30, and off the water around 10:00 ish (for me, anyway). I've gotta make it to a friend's kid b-day party in Tomales around 11:30.

Anyone interested?

~Alex

Hey Bro

if you launch at Doran at 5:30 and need to be at Tomales at 11:30, then you should just troll all the way to Tomales and have one of your friends drop you at Doran later, or just troll back and get more fish. :ball
Imagine the face on your friends if you show up there in a kayak with 2 huge salmon on the clip.
Just remember not to live the fish in the water while trolling close to Tomales cause the sharks may take a bite at it.

I will be at HMB Saturday, will be at Doran on Friday.
Good luck.

Man, that would be awesome... I think I'd want some company on an adventure like that.

I might just be "fashionably late" to the party... Although it won't help my chances of fishing again on Sunday (minus 10 GFAF points for being late to a friend's kid's birthday). Ha!

I'm definitely interested, but don't think I can make it happen on Saturday.

Soon...

Do you listen to Coastside radio or something else?

Listening to the radio chatter this morning it sounds like there's still a hot bite at the whistle buoy.

A few mentions of kayakers on the water, too. :) Hope you guys are scoring!

Yes, Coastside Radio (ch.9). Are there other places to listen in?

I think I will hit it on Saturday also. I have a show on Friday night, so it will be a late one for me, but I have yet to get an ocean salmon on the yak. What is the rig settup you guys are using? thanks.

I'll be using...

 20-lb test main line--> Double Deep Six--->Watermelon Apex (4.5") re-tied with a 4 or 5 foot, 30-lb fluorocarbon leader.

Listening to the radio chatter this morning it sounds like the WMA is catching more and bigger fish that the other options.

I also have a small Kone Zone flasher, a few green RSKs, and a tray of anchovies in case the WMA isn't doing it.

I'll have a second rod rigged for mooching just in case there's bait/fish hanging outside the "no mooch" area.

Hope to see you Saturday morning! Dunk your head in the water first thing and it'll scare away that hangover ;)

Can I get a roll call? Is anyone else going to make it out on Saturday?

Sounds like the bite has picked up again this morning at the whistle buoy after slowing down a little for the lady couple days.

Seems that some bigger fish are coming from near the bottom, and these fish are munching on a thick layer big shrimp.

The whole area is full of bait this morning. :)

Should be a great day tomorrow!
