Saw this earlier today and couldn't believe it.  We are all Fishers now.

Not sure where it's written I have to roll with it.

How many hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars (in legislators time, judges time, lawyers time, law clerks time, printers. etc, etc, etc) went in to adding this "zero harm" law into the books? How much of that time and money could have been used to address real social problems that affect millions of people, like  poverty or joblessness, instead of drafting up this feel-good horse-excrement that doesn't really make any concrete changes other than make rabid feminists with persecution complexes feel better?

I guarantee you two things; 1. if you told my wife or my mother that they were being held back in their lives because they were a "freshman" instead of a first year student, either one of them would either laugh their asses off, or knock you on yours, and B. You can throw a stick into Midtown Sacramento and hit someone who would benefit more from $100 than the hundreds of thousands of dollars it took to draft that law (folks who would also disagree with you that spending our tax money was "zero harm.")

And bmb **respect** I am not trying to be rude to you, it is hard for me not to be deeply offended when our government wastes obscene amounts of our money on arcane things, yet the MustardSeed House is still begging for cash every year..

There is nothing patently offensive about these particular anachronisms. This is right up there with the Department of Fish and Wildlife, only even more expensive.

I see the logic but assume the law is aimed at future generations. There is also the issue of amending all versions of dictionaries. I wouldn't be surprised to see efforts to change references in religious documents, like the Bible.

  Wait a dad-gum minute!  I thought California was the "Trend Setter" for outrageous things?  What a bunch of hoooey!  I guess Washington state has an overabundance of funds, for someone to actually push this garbage through.
