Launched in the harbor at around 7AM late start because my fishing partner was sleeping while i was waiting outside of his house for 20 minutes in the car.   :smt011 We paddled over near the reef off santa cruz point (as best as we could tell) and got into some small rockfish on diamond jig and shrimp fly/squid.  i brought up a decent olive and something with big head on diamond jig.  then we fished the kelp beds off the point for nothing.  around 11 we started drifting bait back towards the harbor and Joe pulls in an ok rockfish but we kept it cause it was his first time fishing on the ocean.   saw a couple other dudes in kayaks fishing and a fleet of people renting kayaks out in the kelp.  didn't see anyone with any fish though.
