With anchovies on the inside now, I feel the odds are much better.
Hi Allen-
This is Charam. Hope all is well-)
I have a quick Q for you: I usually go to Capitola, and by the Kelp beds I pick up few 3-4 inches baby rock fish to use them as live baits for HB.
So far I haven't cut anything trolling the area using these baits, and I wonder if the folks use them for this purpose?
Any thoughts?

yeah, no.

RF might work sometime but kingfish smelt and of course anchovies or sardines.  Whole squid always works.
