The floating campsites are the BOMB. There are also some great developed boat in sites. SHore camping can be had at Bidwell Canyon. Kokes will be WAY deep and bass will be easy but down 25-35 feet. Carolina rigged morning dawn robo worms for the bass. Topwater will work early and late for bass

It is ridiculously hot right now (temp) and the bass fishing is easy, but size is an issue.

The floating campsites are aewsome but usually booked up by now, but you can check it out.

The lake is so full of bass that it is pretty hard to not catch a bunch, but getting anything over barely legal is difficult with the overpopulation.

Please keep and eat any legal fish you catch, you will help the lake.

3 options for camping.  Loafer Creek = best choice.  Bidwell - has the marina.  Lime Saddle - no launching at campsites but close to Nelson Bar free cartop launch.

I am thinking about coming up this Friday due to reports like this one. If you like salmon, the coho bite is tough to beat right now by the sound of it. These guys fished near the dam, check out fish sniffer.com for more reports

Most fish the Cohos from the dam to just past the green bridge.  I'm taking my boat out tomorrow and might do some trolling for them if the heat doesn't kill me first.

I used to put in on the cartop-only launch off of,,, StringTown Road? Cool part about that was that on the way to Stringtown, there was a little lake (wyandotte) that was a nice little paddle, caught a few bass on white willowleaf spinnerbaits in wyandotte, then down to Stringtown and into Oroville, real private back there, not many folks (PS. watch out for nudist houseboaters in the coves, and not the nice kind) if the lake was low you could drive along the shore for a while, I usually put in at stringtown and went west one cove to the cove full of sunken pine trees, did pretty good drop-shotting little silver-blue straight worms. Nothing massive, but a lot of fun.... I need to go back up there...
Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not "Mr. Lebowski". You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.
