got this from steve carson at the fred hall show.





i AM going to change out the handle grip. otherwise i am going to fish this reel stock for this upcoming trip.



the stock handle grip comes off easily.



the post has to get drilled out.  no time for a full rebuild.  i leave in 2 hours.



there, that's more like it!  this is my new handle design.



roger and i leave northern california in 2 hours, headed to san diego.  tomorrow we board the royal star and it looks like a good bluefin bite is still going on.  i'm bringing gear for several guys.  the reels are four andros', four makaira 8's, four makaira 10's, four progear classic series 501's, the new torque, the international 12 vsx, the makaira 50 and the penn 50 vsx, with phenix and calstar rods to match.  see you guys in a week.  alan

I love the mod on a brand new reel!!! You have all the right gear for sure, hope the fish cooperate for you. Looking forward the report and pics!
