Joel's yahoo account got hack'd and we are unable to access or closed the account; so please do not open any emails from "liberro1969.yahoo.com" account.
Instead, we have create a new account : [email protected]

If you need to email Joel, please use this account.

Thanks and God Bless

I have said this before but I will say it again.  Yahoo sucks.  My hosting was done by them initially and someone was spoofing (correct term for someone that is not me sending someone spam?) my email and they could or would not do anything about it.

Yahoo sucks,  Mooch rules.  Glen is pretty cool too. :smt002

My wife's yahoo mail got hacked the other day. Sent out a bunch of spam to all of her contacts. I told her to change her password.

What sucks was we (Joel and I) could not even change the password, access the account or even close the account; this is with Yahoo Customer Service on the phone.

There are 2 Security questions on the account that you have to answer before you can reset you password or access the account:

1.) Where was your Honeymoon location?
- We all know Joel was a freewheeling single man, so this questions does not apply to him. But NOOOOOOOO, Customer Service would not accept a "null" answer; because we could not answer the question correctly, Strike 1.....

2.) What is your pet's name?
- I bet you that more than half of NCKA knows Joel's pet's name; but NO..... the answer "Kylo" was not correct!! Strike 2....

Question #3.... oh wait, you don't get another questions because you didn't answer one for the first 2 correctly; BAM, Strike 3.....

With no other way to validate our identity we could not access the account, we could not even close the account; so it remains open to continue to spam any friend of Joel's that he has an email address for...

If I was not in such a holy place with numerous people around, I would not have been so controlled when I am angry, with the person on the phone; my wife even was surprise I did not bring out all my colorful adjectives for the person....

One thing for sure..... Yahoo has very poor customer service....

Try contacting the CEO; can't hurt to try. That's how I resolved an issue with my Dell computer years ago.

Or try contacting the consumer advocate on Channel 7 (seriously).

I know it sucks, but ... how would you like to see this resolved?  I, for one, am glad that yahoo makes it difficult for any old "yahoo" to call in and get access to an email account.

Also, yahoo has a mechanism by which you enter an alternate email address to help recover accounts.  Now that won't stop a smart hacker from changing that too, but it is one more level of security, and can help in recovering your account.

It's a difficult problem ...

Unfortunately, Joel did not setup an alternate email account; but even if they did, we could not get passed the "security questions" for the system to send an email or for Custome Service to access the account.

And with no way to validate our (Joel's) identity, we can't do anything...

The account will be flagged eventually after 'x' amount of spam mail is sent out; then it will close after that.

Until then, just don't open any emails from his yahoo email....

I don't mean to belabor this point, and believe me, I'm not in love with yahoo ... but what did yahoo have to do with this and what could they do about it after the fact?  Really?

Anyways, the moral of the story is to use passwords with high security and change them often.

All honesty make a gmail account, with 2 way auth via text message.  You won't be getting hacked as easily as the other providers. If someone tries to access your account on another pc, they have to enter in the text message pass that is sent to your phone. (Same as Bank of America)

P.S.  doesn't matter how complicated the password if you get malware on your PC, as the keystrokes and site URL are recorded and sent to a unknown website for logging.

Apparently not much...

Done! His new email will reside as a sub-account under my Comcast plan; I could always validate the account should it become necessary...
