Im heading up to Spicer on Thursday afternoon, camping at Utica or Union.
Bank fishing Spicer Thursday afternoon to catch some dinner.
Planning to kayak fish Spicer Fri and Sat from around 4am until the wind picks up, and then maybe head to Union. With the full moon I want to be fishing as early as I can wake up, might even do some night fishing.

Will have the vhf, company welcome.

Do you need a 4wheel drive in that area to camp? Just wondering because I've heard of the place but never been. Thanks....

It's been a few years since I've been there (The one time) met my dad up there, he had a spot in campsite near the lake, he had his small motorhome there. I really can't say much more than that.

The main road from Hwy 4 to Spicer is paved and easily accessible. The roads that branch off to Utica and Union are dirt roads with some rocks and potholes, nothing a car cant handle though.

I have car camped at Utica and Union and backpacked 5 miles into the end of Spicer. Overall its a  easy trip from the bay area. I think you have to pay to car camp at Spicer though, not too sure.

The dam area at Spicer in the evening will also go WFO on most days.
