i dont know any details about how or why but regardless its always a reminder to always play it safe and understand conditions , use proper safety equipment and have a plan in case you go in. it was pretty windy that day and there were some strong currents.

Terrible. I didn't hear anything about this. Yesterday afternoon, the CHP helicopter plucked two boaters out of the water in Suisun Bay as well. Sounds like their boat sank. I'd imagine the kayaker had a medical emergency while out paddling. Sad.

Never go out alone I agree 100%. However, you never know how or when your time is up. Dying doing what you love is worth much more that never doing it. RIP friend.
