I picked up one of this reel this morning while at Travis Air Force base, now I'm deciding on which rod to pair it with. I plan to use it mainly for salt( rockfish and lings) any advice or tip would be great. Happy Father's Day.

You can't go wrong with the Trevala rod with that reel specially for rock fishing. :smt002 I bought the new version Trevala S for it seemed much lighter. I hope to catch some big fish with it.  :smt003

+1 on the Trevalia S.  I also own this setup and I really enjoy it.
Take some, but save some for later.

My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

THIS! BTW if you get An S model it will match the green on the curado. That just happens to be 3rd place prize for Albion Open.

I've never used a Trevala, but my new Teramar is pretty awesome. It's like 7'6" and has lots of backbone to keep the hook in the Lings head. Definitely worth a look.

I have that too Jeff but I haven't had a chance to use it yet. Maybe when I go after some halis in HMB. :smt002

its pretty much almost the same blank.I think the trevala has better guides that's where the price difference comes in.
