Got a new battery and wired it up, all soldiered and sealed. Now I need to get my pile of parts on its way from various suppliers. Best part of a new kayak is the build.

I tried to do the same battery setup with those quick connection but for some reason, the battery won't charge when hooked up. Though it would power up the ff/GPS.

If it will power the FF but not charge either you didn't get good connection on the charger or you got the terminals too hot and cooked the battery if you soldiered the connections

I figured out the problem. Apparently, when I installed those quick connections  from autozone I thought they'd automatically match neg to neg and positive to positive. I switched them out and re-wires them. Works like a charm now. Lesson learned: always trace/double check your connections and take your time.
