S U B A R U.  I have been buying them since 90s.  I had to buy a Dodge Mini van when the kids were popping out.  Bad experience. (mini van not the kids)   But now I am back to Subaru.   Scott's new ride is really impressive.

Volvos will run forever IF you can afford frequent (way overpriced) minor repairs and "maintenance".

I'm loving my 2006 Outback. It's easy to load kayaks on, and it handles very well.

Resale on used Subaru's is too high IMO. When I bought my XV in January.  Buying a new Subaru was actually a better value

+1.  This is why I bought a new one plus better financing rates buying it new.  Although I don't mind them holding their value either now that I have purchased a new one.

one more plus for Subaru. SOA provides great customer service - they stepped up for me when i had problems and my local dealership service did not take my complains seriously enough.

I've looked around and the "Outback" once again is my favorite...  one problem, even though the space is good for the size of an "Outback"  :smt003, we talking Hobies or cars? anyway,,

I still need the " Tokyo Condo"...  for me it makes sense as it's paid for, maintenance around $1500 a year and not driving that much so it all is keeping cost down till it dies, about 200K right now,  gas around Berkeley is tough/parking and so is all the prius's running underneath me...

side note, I'm really thinking of making up a couple of imitation Side Winder missiles with " Prius Kiiler  :smt077" on the side and hang under my racks...  Is that a Felony?

But when I'm ready, the 3.6 r will be the ride  or maybe another Suburban as I just love the ride and room...

My Subaru Outback just crossed it's 3rd birthday.  My only complaint in the factory rack/rails.  I understand they fixed this in the 2012 or 2013 but I think the Forester rack is far better.  I have seen comments about handling but a new set of Michelin tires has made huge improvements to mine.  The stiffer side walls have made a big difference.  My next car will definitely be another Subaru.
