Not sure if solar panels would work along our fog covered shores. Especially when we usually fish in the early morning before the fog has a chance to burn off. Not to mention they are very fragile. If you roll your kayak on landing, that whole contraption will be wrecked.

What is he running that requires soooooo much power?  Didn't appear as if he was long distance camping off the yak.

Potential shock hazard would be my fear.... I am pretty sure electricity and water are not a good mix

It's only 12v & the amount of output power from that size solar panel is in the milliamp scale ... possibly reaching 1 amp, but doubtful.  Not really a need for a charge controller on that setup unless the panel outputs greater than 13.8v or a Gel battery.
