I need to get out to Muir at least once this year.  From what I can tell, the weather looks manageable (please correct me if you think otherwise) but I definitely don't feel comfortable going out there alone.  I'm going out for Halibut only and gonna stick close to the beach.

If anyone is game, please let me know.  If not, I'll change up the game plan and slide out to Paradise or something.   :smt006

Hi,
I just saw your post today.  I just got a trident 13 a few months ago, and joined NCKA recently.  I have fished for years. I live in Novato and am interested in fishing Muir before they close it down in June.  I have launched there to test my Yak out.  I'd like to go for crab and Halibut.  I have a flexible schedule.  I am also interested in Stinson/Bolinas and other places in the area.

Is Muir going to be closed for some reason?

Big time f word

That parking lot is brand new, what the hell are they doing? National Park Service has their heads up their asses

This isn't about steelhead and cohos, its about jackasses pissing away money on futile projects

Unless inshore along local coast pans out looks like I'm not doing much salmon fishing this year

Between the Monday Tuesday closure and the Muir closure I'm f'ed

Oh well might as well look on the bright side, less ass aches from sitting on an ugly slab of floating plastic

There is always fort cronkhite in marin to launch from but the surf can kick up there from time to time . There is good halibut ,crab ,rockfish right in that area and not not far from shore either. That sucks that they are closing muir beach access. :smt012

can't you launch from the north end of the beach at Muir. You might have to drop your boat off and then park but I think you can access from the end of the street where the houses are or so a local told me.

Whoa... I just barely saw all of these replies.  I can't believe they closed Muir Beach!!  Man, I sorta like living in Marin, but damn.... where they hell can I fish!!!  I guess I'll keep hiking my ass down to paradise.

Please let me know if there are any other beach launches.  Thanks for the replies guys.
