after seeing the pics of SurfingDude's kick ass sled, I figured I ought to do a little setup testing of my own, seeing as how I will be carrying a bit more stuff on board at Shelter Cove. Plus, I had to hack together a quickie mount for my FF.
I got a nice color coordinated Folgers bucket from my office to carry the harpoon line. Once the lid is off the line can spill out. Harpoon itself can ride under one of the paddle keepers.
Net, gaff, bonker all ride on the plano, and rods can sit in the flush mounts. For higher surf I'll park the rods under the opposite paddle keeper.
FF is a new head unit in my old portable base. I planned to set up the transducer & battery pack inside the hull, but ran out of time to so so. Instead I'll roll with the suction cup ducer for the weekend.
What you can't see in the pics are front & rear floatbags, spare paddle, bilgepump, and throwbag.

Great lookin setup, got a dumb question though.so what's the gaff for and what is the harpoon for
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

The harpoon is for anything too big for the gaff to handle = PacButt.

I'm packing in chunks instead of doing it all at midnight on Thursday like I usually end up doing.

All electronics got a fresh charge and I got all my rockfishing gear together this afternoon. Most of my clothes are packed and all my kayak stuff is in one little area.

Tomorrow I'll sort out anything I'm gonna need for salmon or halibut, rinse anything that needs rinsing, and get all my gear packed and ready to load. I'll probably hit OPS on my lunch break for some new line on my reels, as well as anything else that catches my eye.

That leaves Wednesday evening for picking up any camping supplies/food I'm bringing and Thursday for getting anything last minute done.

I'm stoked. See you guys some time on Friday.
