How does a warden have proof that 3 abalone were not re-attached properly? Are they diving amongst the violators? Just curious.

Peace & blessings!

Maybe the person just tossed the abalone back into the water.

I heard in an old news release that they are sometimes on scuba out monitoring divers on busy days.

the wardens hide out on top of the cliffs with huge spotter scopes.most newbs and careless pickers are just after a meat haul and will just toss the ab back in the water.they get no symphaty from me,cite them all i say. i someday would like to take my kids(kicking and screaming) diving.sometimes they use those cameras with the huge lens.a good amout of the divers are not really diving.most are rockpickers so its not very hard to spotem.ive seen women with ab limits and their wetsuits arnt even wet.keep the tickets coming
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

What's the deal with the first one, taking abalone prior to open hours? What is that referring to?
May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...

yeah you get ticketed if your in the water before sunrise.as for more than three you get to sell the rest over your limit.

dfg wardens have been known to be in the water acting as divers as well. And on decent viz days you can pretty much see into the water for at least a few feet from the cliffs with scopes.
