Hello Fellow Kayakers!  I finally dropped some money on a kayak after several years of kicking out on my boogie board.
Spearfishing is so freaking awesome!  My kayak of choice is the Cobra Expedition.   I have the necessary equipment but just need recommendations for a good fish finder and GPS unit.  If you get one toy, why not another?

What do you guys recommend?  I'm hoping to spend less than $500 for the whole setup.

Thanks!

Will the FF/GPS be used for diving only or do you plan on needing/wanting it for deeper water (say over 100')?  You can get a nice unit, in color, for under $500.

I have a Humminbird 383c Combo for sale $200. It is a color unit with integrated GPS. Full specs here: http://store.humminbird.com/products/307019/383c_Combo_Portable. Includes fish finder, mounting head, transducer, power cable, battery, carrying case, instruction manual.

Everything can be taken out of the carrying case and mounted to your kayak, which is how I used it.

I picked up a Lowrance elite 5 gold from West Marine a couple weeks ago. 170 bucks off retail. Not sure if the sale is still on. I love this unit.
