After months and months of penny pitching and viewing and reading reviews on new/used kayaks today was the day that one came home with me. Now the wife needs one also.

Lucky for me/us I happened to do a random search on Craigslist this morning around 7am on my iPhone. To my surprise I found a "only used 5-9" show room shine Kayak! So I called and no one answered I was a but sad but a few hours later that same number called me back and told me to come view it.

When I saw how great of shape the kayak was in My jaw dropped!

Make: Mad River Canoe
Model: Synergy 14

I have demoed a few kayaks lately but when I paddled the Synergy 14 I felt safe and knew it was meant to be!

First few mods will be building a transportation wheels thing from PVC and harbor freight tiers.

Configuring my milk crate box

Building up my dry storage safety kit.

Buying a new rudder system thankfully it has the brackets needed for easy install.

Making a sailing DIY sail

Adding fish finder and Go Pro's

This is a video of the same make/model of my kayak all rigged out and modified that I randomly found. I can't wait to modify mine.

Deciding between a canoe or sit-on-top kayak just got easier, because you can get the best features of both in the Mad River Synergy 14.

● Deep hull design provides more gear storage and protection from the elements than standard sit-on-top kayaks
● Multichine hull design delivers stability, rigidity and excellent tracking—perfect for long paddles
● Hull is crafted of Gen2™ high-density polyethylene for amazing durability and easy care
● Open cockpit with adjustable footbraces and padded seat ensure comfort during long days on the water
● Ample bow and stern tank wells with mesh covers, center hatch and gear pouches carry more than enough gear for a full day of exploring
● Adjustable backrest folds down for easy transport
● 2 recessed rod holders mounted just behind the seat allow easy access to fishing rods
● 2 Paddle Parks with quick-release tabs hold your paddle when fishing and taking photographs
● Comfort carry handles at bow, stern and sides make transport to and from the water a cinch
● Molded cup holder keeps beverages close

Congrats on your yak!
If you haven't already you should invest in a life jacket ASAP. Safety first.

Enjoy your new toy.
