My buddy Troy (Yakonthefly) is expat-ing over there for a year.  I need to task him with more exploring.

That would be great if you can get first hand intel from your buddy.  There were a lot of expats in Siargao.  Met and had a few beers with a bunch of them.  Many from france, canada, U.S.  Funny though only one of them was there for the fishing.

Getting me a interested.  I'm supposed to head to the PI next winter.

My father is from Pangasinan.  My mother is from Cagayan.  There is supposed to be some great fishing off the northern tip up there.  I caught one of the first fish I can remember catching in a rice paddy canal on our family farm up there.  I found out years later the catfish was pre-tied on the piece of string by one of the farmhands.

Sounds like you, Glen and Kiel are all from the same area.  It would be great if we can get some intel on the best fishing month for Bolinao or Pangasinan. I'll see if we can get some info from several of the fishing clubs in PI.  Like you, I remember catching fish in the rice paddies in Bulacan.  We use to catch small tilapias by hand in this hole that they dug up in the middle of the rice field. 

Which month do you guys think you want to go there?

April is good with me too.  It's a lot hotter but tolerable.  The earlier we plan it the better.  We could fish Bolinao, Batangas (we can stay at our condo there) and Siargao.
