My first post.
Lake Natomas is right off hiway 50 just east of Sacramento. Take the Hazel Ave exit, back over hiway, 3/4 mile on the right is the entrance to the lake. The next rt off of Hazel will take you to the base of the dam(steelhead and salmon combat fishing).
If you take a left opposite from Natomas entrance, the American River fish hatchery is right there. Interesting to visit.
Hope to meet some of you soon! You're killing me with your recipes and sashimi and oysters and all the rock fish.
I just fish the Delta, Folsom Lake, and Natomas.

The lake is called Lake Natoma. The city on the north side of Sac is called Natomas. There are more carp than trout or bass. Huge carp. Bring stinky dough bait.

Talk about reviving a dead thread lol!  You can launch for free at the CSUS aquatic center, but you need to bring wheels for the 100 yards between the parking lot and the water.  Better yet, buy a Golden Poppy Pass and you can launch at most state parks for "free".
