my girls first turkey

I set up a blind a week earlydidn't see any turkeys in the in the area or in recent were hoping I'd picked a good spot. Came back opening morning few minutes late but it was still a little bit dark. Put up fo4r decoys on the side of the hill waiting for light. Started chirping in calling no response for half an hour t hen we get gobbles at the top of the hill out of nowhere had 3 * coming in at about; 70 yards they change their minds and went the other way about 15 minutes later we hear 3 crack shots* of Guns by then it was 730 in the morning and figure the day was done wait a little while longer few more calls and chirps hear another Tom opposite direction way up at the top of the hill we did very long periods between calls let him call Mainly. Then nothing for quite a while dead silence and all of a sudden he shows up of my right shoulder I saw him and he saw me at the same time to turn my head without my mask on. Charisse didn't see him but I told her to hold still an hold her breath wait for him to come sideways has he passed there is a big bush the hidden so she brought up a shotgun shot over my shoulder is it came out the opening mail them on the first shot.

WTG, that looks a nice set up.  Now how long do you have to let a bird hang here?  I know back east in the cooler weather they let birds hang a few days to ge the gaminess out.
