I looked into it about a year ago and they do have a great course I talked to 1 student that went through it. My final conclusion was I just couldn't justify a thousand dollars to make me a better diver, maybe.
Where did he go george

I took the course last summer in Miami, weather conditions didn't permit us to do any of the open water sessions. I'm going to make up the class this June in San Diego. I have mixed feelings about it. I definitely learned a lot about the physics of freediving and the dangers of shallow water black out, but if your already doing 4 minute plus statics you may not see as much improvement as others in the class. It is really expensive and you can kind of get the feeling of being nickel and dimed after paying for boat fees and make up sessions on top of the course fee. Still, I'm looking forward to a safe supervised environment where I can really push myself.

Yeah it is expensive but it's something I've been thinking about for a couple of years. Appreciate the feedback.

I'd recommend taking the biginners course.  It's all the diving and safety info just a little less of the physiology and not as much open water time.  At half the price, unless you're shooting for 100' or more it's the way to go.

Did you take this course that you are recommending?

Thanks,

I took the intermediate course which is the beginners course plus a lecture on the physiology of diving, one additional pool training and two additional days of line diving.  The beginners were in the same class for the first two days.  My opinion is that unless you're already a fairly skilled diver the beginners course will give you as much information as you will be able to handle and get you diving to 60 feet.  Once you get comfortable there you can take the intermediate but it's not going to help you much if you're not at that level already.

Also, I think you should take the course with a buddy because none of it will do you any good if you can't practice it after the class.  The class gives you the information and the skills to build on.  It's only through repeated practice that you will see the results you are looking for.
