Wanted a break from all that paddling and jigging, so we went for some lazy-man style
bait fishing on anchor in the bay.

Launched under the dumbarton on the Menlo Park side at around 7AM.  I thought the tide
was gonna be out but it was pretty high so we didn't
get too muddy on the launch.  the chop calmed down and was smooth as glass by 8am.  We
parked the boat on the edge of the main channel next to one of the high tension towers
and fished there the rest of the morning.  Nate hooked up first with small bat ray and
caught another small ray about 15 minutes later; both on squid.  Wind picked up around 11AM and we
paddled for shore having caught 4 small bat rays and maybe 15 leapord sharks between the
two of us, none more than 30" or so.  We got to shore and the tide was low so we got
out and started tromping through the knee deep mud.  I loaned Nate my old fishing waders
and he was having a hard time making it through the stuff.  The boots kept getting stuck in the mud and
he kept tripping and falling all over the place.  was so funny i almost pissed myself!  :smt005
Must have taken Nate 20 minutes to get to shore in that muck.

Maybe next time i'll drift further south towards lucky buoy #17 for some big ones.
